Center for Integrated Biotechnology
Training

The research area of Biotechnology is one of the most rapidly growing industries in the country and expanding job areas for science graduates. The Center for Integrated Biotechnology is an organized research unit on the WSU campus that integrates over 22 departments and facilitates the research activities of over 160 independent faculty. The Center promotes faculty collaborations, has established state-of-the-art core service laboratories, and enhances industry interactions and intellectual property development. One of the major activities of the Center is to facilitate the training programs that are offered by individual departments across the WSU campus for students interested in the area of biotechnology.

Graduate Training Programs

The Center for Integrated Biotechnology facilitates a developing organized inter-departmental and inter-college training program. The Center has integrated activities that include a seminar and workshop series and an annual retreat. These activities provide a mechanism for overall program interaction in degree programs across campus. Options for students interested in a graduate degree in biotechnology are the following:

1) An organized NIH funded Ph.D. Program in Biotechnology that is an inter-departmental program on campus. Students interested in more information on this program should click on the appropriate button to the right.

2) Over 30 different Graduate Degree programs are available from over 20 departments across campus doing research relevant to the area of Biotechnology. These degree programs are available by clicking on the Departmental Graduate Degree button to the right. A prospective student interested in a specific area of science can then access a more focused graduate program suited to their interest by then selecting an appropriate program in the attached list.

All students need to apply to the specific programs of interest for admittance, as well as, applying directly to the WSU Graduate School Office. Any questions regarding specific programs can be made through this site to the general contact information provided below or emailed to biotechnology@wsu.edu.

Undergraduate Training Programs

Students interested in an undergraduate Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biotechnology can obtain more information on the program by clicking on the appropriate button to the right. This BS degree program is offered through the School of Molecular Biosciences at WSU.
