2008 Undergraduate Summer Research Fellowships

Applications Due March 10, 2008

The purpose of the Summer Research Fellowship is to provide the opportunity for undergraduates to pursue research under the mentorship of a CIB faculty member. This is an important part of a student’s education and therefore, the ten $3,500 awards will be granted to qualifying undergraduate students. A research project will be done under the guidance of a faculty member within the Center for Integrated Biotechnology, during at least an 8-week period in the summer of 2008.

1. List any awards, honors, or scholarships you have received.

2. Describe any past or present research activities with which you have been involved.

3. Describe any work experience you have had, including number of hours worked per week.

4. List activities in in which you have participated (clubs, music,student government).

5. Describe your career goal, that is, what you plan to do after graduation with a B.S. degree and what you think you would like to be doing 5 years after graduation.

6. What is the proposed research project and your part in it for which this reward is requested.

 

 

Have your Faculty Sponser write an email letter to biotechnology@wsu.edu that includes the following:

1. Statement of willingness to host the student in the laboratory and supervise the student.

2. Recommendation on student's background experience.

3. Provide a paragraph on the research area and the research-training program.
